jig/skill saw with a fiber glass blade works just fine, or a 32 tooth metal blade

Also run masking tape over the front and back side before you cut. this will keep the fiber glss from chipping and give you a clean cut

I have a wheel for my Dremel that I used to cut my fenders, and it worked AWESOME. I bought it originally to cut formica sheeting.

Wear a respirator or something though- what a dusty MESS it makes!

I used a RotoZip to cut the headlight holes. Works good. Practiced on wood first.

Just don't use a cutting torch!

I've done about all of the above and they all work. Wear long sleeves, too. Fiberglass dust is itchy stuff and it'll drive you nuts.

if it weren't for ladies present, I'd recount when I poured metal prep all over my crotch. that made fiberglass dust in my eyes a cake walk.

anyhow, when you cut them, are you going to reinforce the edge with anything?

I MADE A 'L' BRACKET FROM THE FENDER BODY BOLT TO THE EDGE OF THE FENDER,, THEN TWO BOLTS IN THE FIBERGLASS,,LAST BODY BOLT TO THE REAR,WIDEST PART OF FENDER,,WORKED GREAT,,PROBABLY STONGER THAN UNCUT FENDER!!

I've seen elec. conduit bent to follow countour and glassed over. Or you could use wood, cardboard, just about anything. The strength comes from the fiberglass applied over the part, bonding it to the fender. heck, even use what you cut off, rough the smooth side up, put resin on it, apply and glass over it, clamp till dry. Or instead of clamping, screw 2 pieces together, then remove and fill holes when set up.
