howdy all,,my 69 baja has five hole lugs ,are all drums the same as far as bearings and spindles?

when i hauled my bug home one brake locked up and burned the shoes ,drum got real hot

now im looking to get new drums for now ,,plan on getting a disk brake set up,
car was almost ready to start on fire it was so hot,,are the four hole hubs the same?? thanks

bugzyla can give you better info than I, been a loooooong time for me. but, do you have a spacer,say 1/2" or so, between the rear drum and the axle nut? You could be running 66/67 front and rears from same, or T3 if the shoes are wider, or a Thing. Step in bugzyla, great master of all things baja....

good question,,,i havent taken it apart since i got it home,,took hot drum and the brakes apart on a mountain top,,so didnt really look,,im going to take it all apart this weekend ,,thanks

Post a pic of the rear drum. You can use early drums but you have to put a spacer on between the drum and the nut. Otherwise you need Thing rear drums.

Daryl what was the deal again on T3 rear drums? I recall the increased shoe surface, but don't remember the particulars on using spacers with T3 drums, swapping axle lengths etc...I've ran 5lug on irs with spacers, and ran T3 drums on swing bugs, but forget the formula for mixing both on irs
