would be quicker to order full pans rather than hit and miss with fabbing something up. It fits....as far as having to lift the body up I do not know.My body was off when I did mine.

If you use a flat piece of sheetmetal it won't be nearly as strong as a stock type floor pan. The floor of any vehicle acts as a sheer plate (the loads & forces act on it in all directions).

I'm not saying you can't do it but, you will need to add a lot of bracing to get that strength back.

You could take a flat piece of sheet metal and use a dimple die and spend several days dimpling the sheet metal. Then take another flat piece of sheet and weld it to the backside of your dimpled sheet. It would be a lot stronger ,but I would just buy new pans and do it that way.

If you buy new pans you don't have to take the body off, but life will be so much easier and its not that hard. That's what I did. Putting in new pans is not as hard as people make it out to be as long as you take your time and do a good job.

I'm working on changing my floor pans as we speak. Seems like mine are welded all the way around. I bought the BUG ME video on the floopans and it was a lot of help!
