find a later model car with an irs pan. then swap the balljoint pan headfor a link pin head. THis will be easier than trying to convert a linkpin pan to irs. you want '68 and later standard.

Yep, I'm torn between the irs or swing axle. I am impatient and it's hard to wait for an irs car to come up for sale. Very Happy

Ok, so I ended up with a 67 instead of 68. It has an 1800 motor and clear title. I can't wait to tear into it. I need the ice to go away so I can go pick it up. Very Happy

I brought the 67 home today. It has some rust issues Mad I'm going to have to replace the floor, and the rail around the pan too.The driver side of the front wall has a rusty hole about 6 inches long and 2 inches tall in it.I love midwestern cars Rolling Eyes No key either, the guy said he would mail it to me when he finds it. I'll take some pics tomorrow if it quits raining.

Well, I towed the 68 home today. A little hairy towing with the ice on the roads. Shocked
The car is actually an Arizona car. It came from Camp Verde AZ. I don't know how it ended up in arkansas. The floor is in great shape. It's got a problem with the lower hinge on the drivers door. I will show a pic.

Here is some crazy amateur window etching. Do 67 popout windows fit on this thing?

Interior shots lots of spare parts and parts to rebuild the engine with.It even came with a tri-mil chrome stinger exhaust system.

It has a tilt hood

Here is the pic of the door problem. Someone has already cut out the bad his part. Can I get this section of the body ,or do I have to find a body to cut it from? Maybe one of you guys has one you'll sell me. Very Happy

I have big plans for this bug. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I would, but it has threaded holes for the hinge screws. It would take longer than the $11.99 it would cost to buy. Besides, I have another plan thanks to one of the fine members of this board. Very Happy

Ok, I just got off the phone with Wiggins at chirco. I ordered floor pans, a frame head and gasket. Does anyone have any advice on removing the old pans. From what i've read on the net I need to cut out the old ones leaving a half inch or so around the edge. Then, grind or air chisel the remaining strip out aroung the edge. Am I off on the right foot? Very Happy
