I'm looking for some advice on a starter set of seats for my baja. I would like something that is relatively comfortable, and relatively well priced. I currently have to stand up to drive my car and its killing my back.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Get the race trim seats from Chirco. They are $160 or so each and VERY comfortable. Same basic seat as a Beard or a Corbeau but alot less expensive.

The stock Yamaha Rhino seats are pretty decent.

what ever happened to stock lowbacks?

Worst case, hit the junkyard and grab what feels good. Weld them to a set of VW seat rails and go to town. Doesn't get much cheaper than that, just watch out for blodstains and glass shards Smile

I just bought a complete set of stock seats for my Baja at KARS 2007 W Glendale Road. It's at the end of any alley attached to a parking lot. I know kinda wierd, but saved me a ton of money. IMO

65 Ea for tall back fronts and 50 for the complete rear. Albiet they need recovered, I didn't have a rear seat at all and the fronts are pretty decent for now and better than what I had.

Anyone have some covers laying around?

Also picked up a mirror for the D/S door. $4

I saw he has a ton of engines laying around, so if you're looking for just a piece of one, you could probably talk him out of it.

I'm going to save up some cash and see what I need later.

I originally put RCI seats in mine. I think the company is out of business, but I know somebody bought the mold and is still making them. They are plastic injection molded, and have all the cut-outs for a 5 point harness. If I remember right, they cost me $40.00 each new a few years back. They also make padded covers that pretty much slip right over them in a variety of colors. They sound very uncomfortable, but they aren't at all. They're actually pretty damn cool. I have all sorts of back problems, and these seats are actually more comfortable than the ones in any other car I've owned, and I've had a bunch of them. They're even better than my motorhome captains chairs.

Who'd a figured?

And I originally bought them because Beard's wouldn't fit between my roll cage bars.

I found some nice seats at the junk yard out of a ford escort along with some seat mounts from a gmc safari van. Just take some measurements and head to the junk yard. Look for two door cars so the seats will fold forward so you can get in the back. Cost me $70.00 for everything. Just gotta vacuum out the broken glass. Very Happy

nukeworker: You look like you have done about the same stuff that I have done. Seat rils out of a ford van, vacuum cleaner hose ducts under the seats for heat.

Tha vacuum hose sounds like a good idea. Don't know how well mine works yet. I haven't tried it out. Just picked up the hoses that go from the heater boxes to the chasis. How's yours work?
