So, the parts of the interior that I wanted to Herculine are done. The battery tray is installed (I powdercoated it while it was out). I have to patch a hole in the floor (cut out cancer under old battery location), and then I can put the diamond plate floor pieces and then seats back in.

Got the motor together today, and tried to hang it. Lower studs are too short for some reason. Gonna try and find some longer metric studs tomorrow (yeah, right- on a Sunday!). Oil cooler, doghouse/alternator, tins all installed. Motor WAS actually hanging on the car today, but since there wasn't enough thread showing on the lower studs, I need longer ones. Unfortunately, it was about 4 months ago when I pulled it apart, so I've no idea if something is screwy now or why.

After the motor's hanging (hopefully tomorrow), I have to remove the one axle that's on and re-index my torsions for axle angle. Would be GREAT if most of that were done tomorrow, but that's a little optimistic.

Man I hope to hear this thing run again soon!

Is it the same engine, or did you go to a 6 rib, remember the lower studs are longer on the six rib. If not the same engine might be able to get the studs off the old one, just a thought. I don't get many ya know.

Those are the only reasons I can think of that they wouldn't fit.

As far as the lower studs go, you can buy the 10mm allthread at Lenharts Ace Hardware on Mcdonald and 1st ave in Mesa and cut it to fit, its $10 but you will be able to get it done tomorrow.
