Wow, beams are cheap and it's only 4 large bolts undo the stearing coupler at the steering box and the brake lines. The beam comes out as a unit. you can do all the work with it of the car then bolt it back on.

How fast can you remove 4 bolts? and the then to for the stearin coupler and 2 brake lines. it's real quick.

As for swaping the parts to a new beam it will take a little longer. but your beam is done, check for rust all over the front part that holds your beam. if that has rust on it you will need to get it fixed. as this is the back bone of the car.

Heres what I did
cut off the Ball joint here and added some back up strips to reinforce the weld area

Then I cut off a link pin from a donor and left if with 4" to push the front forward.

LINK PIN FINISHED

I don't think you have to, having the body off made the overhead welding easier as there was none. It also made squaring it up easier, if ya do it make marks somewhere on the pan before you cut to use a reference point later. Check the alignment before you weld and as u weld.
