OK Im new to the whole baja thing (well the whole vw thing) Im in the middle of gettin a 66 bug thinkin about a baja build

right now it's low really low so yeah thats me Ill post a pic when I can

'68 and later IRS car. They're called fatties because things like the tail lights , windows, and bumpers get bigger/wider as they get later.

Some people draw the line at '65, I think they're just haters though.

Now, the thing about fatties is that they're ball joint, so you have to pull the body off the pan, chop off the pan head, and weld on a link pin head. It's easier to go this route than it is to use an older swingaxle pan and adapt it for IRS.

Link pin front / IRS rear = happy baja! Balljoints break so you want to avoid them.

NO SUPERS! Strut front ends are worse than balljoint.

Ya keep the 66 low and get another to Baja. You don't need to Baja a "Fat Chick" but the rest of the VW world won't give you as much stink eye if you do. Rolling Eyes
