Hi- I just got a Baja that is a '67 body on a '69 chassis. It was owned by my Uncle for 15 years, but has been sitting not running the last 3. Hi-comp 1835 w/midrange cam, Porsche 2bbl carb, body lift, alternator kit, Bosch electronic ignition, Bilsteins, 24 gallon aluminum fuel tank, 1-piece hood, front/rear tube bumpers, oil cooler, Hurst shifter, alum front wheels, etc. It was used to tow their little alum fishing boat in the mountains and for other fun. It's pretty cool of course but obviously needs some attention because of the sitting! I have alot of VWs in the family, my Dad had a Baja when I was kid, my Brother now has a '63 Manx, (we both live in Huntington Beach, CA) my Uncle and Cousin both have Manxs and my other Cousin has a Baja! (all 3 of them in Lake Havasu City) What are we fricken' nuts!!!?? I don't have any pics yet, and right now I'm in the middle of bringing it back to life. When I get further I'll start snapping shots.

Sean

Thanks everyone. As soon as I get back under it I'll start taking pics and giving updates. Which area of the forum is best for that?

Hey Guys- so I started on it. Freed up the engine, cut the rusted exhaust off, installed a new system without heater boxes. Started cleaning up the wiring, flushed the fuel tank, oil lines, cooler, crank case, etc. Plugs, valve adjust. Fired it up, 4 heat cycles, 2 oil changes, etc. It starts and runs good, idles erratic, needs carb cleaning. So here's some pics so far. Sorry they're so big.

Thanks guys. Yes it's a motorcycle shop, I'm the Tech and Parts guy. The building was an auto body shop years ago, so it has car-width roll doors, and luckily the boss is also a Mopar and British car nut so he lets me keep my Bug and road-race bikes there along with his cars. (coincidentally, in the '80's he used to buy Bugs from out of state and bring them to CA to fix up and re-sell) My shop is www.motoguzziclassics.com or www.myspace.com/motoguzziclassics
