Longer shocks for sure. I made a 2" spacer for mine to compensate. Also my neighbor told i could remove one or two of the springs and maintain the lift but soften the ride.

Can anyone else verify this? I think it makes sense and sooner than later I'm gonna hafta replace my ball joints......

Instead of removing the springs ... I think you would be better off replacing a couple of the solid (one piece) springs with some of the split (2 piece) springs.

So take out the bigger springs and replace them with the smaller? I thought they were all the same size....

You won't. They run the length of the tubes from arm to arm. There are about 10 or so stacked all together to make a bunch. Like a bunch of popsicle sticks. They're clamped in the middle ( where you cut and turn the tubes) and the arms twist and down on the ends of the springs. When you cut and turn you cos the springs to twist, causing more of a bind and the car will raise. That's where you get the stiff ride from.

Yes, BUT I talked a friend of mine at work today and described what I did. He laughed and said " a 1/4 turn? More like a 1/4". He told me a 1/2" at most. What do some of you more experienced guys say about this????

Cos if that's the case I'm screwed. I'm not gonna recut and turn mine. I'll just get another front end and start over.
