does anyone know how to put on those rubber empi waterproofing kits for your dist. cap and coil? those things are frustrating!

Yes they are. So much so that I don't use one and haven't had any problems...

...but I live in AZ and we only see rain once in a blue moon.

i just use di-electric grease on the terminals, unless you sink the engine in water or mud this will usually help prevent any problems.

About the only way I've ever been able to get the damn thing on is to drop it really hot water first to loosen things up. Not the cap, just the rubber sock.

I dont use them cuz they are a pain in the behind. Plus if you ever have to get to the inside you have to pretty much destroy it to get it off. I just carry a can of WD-40 in the car. If you get the dizzy wet just pop the cap and spray the inside of it and the dizzy with WD-40. The WD in WD40 stands for Water Displacement, and its also non conductive so it wont cause a mis fire or cross fire.

I use a bead of silcone rubber on the base of the cap on my car. Never had a problem with it during the rain.
