in flagstaff I pay 400 per month for my closet. well, maybe a closet and half of one bathroom... 750+ will get you the crappiest single bedroom apt as far as i can remember. and a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath 1375 sq.ft. house on .35 acre will run you 1900/month if you want to live in the ghetto

Phoenix area, $800 plus for a small apartment, $1100 plus for a house. It would be a little cheaper if you could buy one, probably get a payment around $700-800 a month. The only way you are going to find anything in the $500 or less range is to either have a couple of room mates, or rent something in the "hood" but be sure to carry a gun.

What are the areas to stay out of in the Phoenix and Tuscon areas ?

shpuz, one word of advice, well actually several. Before you sign a contract, check the neighborhood out at several different times, 6-8:00 AM that guiet neighborhood could be a short cut for alot of people, night, late night when the dregs come out to hang on the street corners, Saturday afternoon when the kids and families are out.

Well the area I know to stay away from ate south phoenix, and parts of west phoenix. El Mirage isnt great either. And from there its pockets of good and bad scattered though out. Mesa & tempe are OK but have areas to stay out of too, tempe is expensive and mesa can be too.
