I just got a fuel injected ford 2.3 from a mustang and was wondering if anybody knows where i can get a wireing harness for it. I'd rather just buy one than spend the time pulling the one out of the mustang and figuring all that out.

also where is a good place to get the adapter kit to the VW tranny??

thanks

You can get the adapter here www.kennedyeng.com and the wiring harness should be available through painless wiring.

You can also get the adapters from heckermachine.com and esslingereng.com. I like hecker machine mostly because I can drive over there and pick them up but he also tends to be much cheaper than kennedy.

It's been a while since i posted this, but i still havent made any progress on this. I'm currently stationed in Korea and have kinda let the project slide and almost completely forgot about it. I ordered the adapter from hecker machine, and its sitting at home in the states. but i still havent gotten the wiring harness. I've been looking on PainlessWiring and cant find what im looking for. I'm just looking for the basic wiring harness to make the 2.3L Ford Fuel Injected run. It's out of a 1991 Mustang. Anybody know exactly what i should be looking for? I'm somewhat lost.

The wiring harnesses on those are mostly seperate from the main harness. The ones I have pulled from T-birds and Merkurs have been stand alone and easy to modify. I have seen them on ebay a few times. You might just keep your eyes open for a stock one you can modify for your car.

If you get totally stuck my site has the wiring diagram in simplified form for the turbo motor. Lance has the newer ranger one on his site, www.vwbaja.net.

If you are running a turbo car look for the harness form a merkur, they use a seperate harness for the computer/sensors and the car. The 83-85 t birds are probably the next easiest, 86 is a lttle harder, and the 87-88 T-birds area nightmare. Everything s intermingled. Take you longer toseperate all the wires than building your own harness. So for simplicity use the merkur.

Korea isn't bad, but still CANT WAIT to get home. Just 8 1/2 more months!
I had kimchi for thanksgiving...Thats the last time i'll ever eat it. By far the worst tasting stuff i've ever eaten. Now that i've seen some of these wiring diagrams, i may just wire up my own harness. It seems pretty straightforward. Alot simpler than what i was expecting. Or if i can easily get the wiring harness for just the engine out of the mustang without o lot of cutting wires i may do that.

Thanks for the input guys

I could wire you up a harness all ready to go and mark the inputs you need for $100. All you would have to do is hook up power, ground and IGN. it will look like a factory harness when done.
