1) cutting front fenders to make "race cut" rear fenders?

2) that outfit in Las Vegas that can help me get a new AZ title for my car.

Thanks!

Chris-

I used them for my '65 with no title (although I knew it was currently titled in AZ and NOT stolen). Worked great. Raised a couple eyebrows at DMV (not something they see very often- a state with no title required??), but after they researched their books, no problems. ITS sends you all the substantiating paperwork you need. If you've got any questions about it, let me know.

Tony

Tony,

This is a legal thing correct? You paid $130 and got the paperwork? What kind of fees did you have to pay the the DMV? Did they do a vehicle inspection on it? Any other details you remeber would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I just cut some front fenders for the rear last night. I'll take pics and upload them tomorrow for you.

Basically what I did is turned them and switched sides, them bolted them on one bolt hole back (this gives a little more coverage in the rear). I then took a marker to them and jigsawed away! I pretty much just eyeballed it, so they're not perfect, but good enough for a little play car. The cut runs from the running board bolt hole to right above the headlight bucket.

Stock tires and suspension:

Front edge doesn't quite meet the body, but that can be fixed

This was taken at a funny angle, but I still need to trim a bit off the front. It would look perfect with 3x3's

I need some wheels and TIRES!

Here you can see how I mounted them offset back by one bolthole

Chris-
It is completely legal. Since the vehicle is being "imported" from another state (registered in Alabama in order for the process to work), you do need to bring the vehicle ONLY for the purpose of VIN verification. Roadworthiness completely immaterial. Standard title fees apply, and if it's a non-driveable project, there's no need to register it until you're ready to drive it. The way the process works is you print out an affidavit from ITS' website, sign/notarize it conveying ownership of the vehicle to ITS (they're in Las Vegas). They then register the vehicle in Alabama, which required no title on vehicles older than 1974 (registration only). They then send you an Alabama registration and Bill of Sale, which you take to DMV here and that's it.
