I just finished the rear of my baja.. I AM SO HAPPY right now !! ( BUT )

Hear is the problem I think I want to cut it up and make it wider now before I do brake lines etc.

What are the pros and cons and how wide is too wide ?

How wide is a stock torsion housing ?

What will I gain from doing this ?

Is that to many questions ? LOL !!!

I'm no expert on the subject but I would think the setup you have now should be more than sufficient. If it's a Baja you shouldn't really need to be any wider. Your setup look good, I wouldn't change it.

Some of the other guys may have some suggestions.

" By the way, Nice sticker!!!!!!!!! "

THANK YOU !!!

Daryll you do good work. I am trying to finish the car so everyone can see the graphics.

This is the problem that I am having but I did not know about it until I got everything together..

I had to use very short axles 18 1/2 that's relay to short for my set up.
I assembled everything and can only get 10 inches of travel. I need to get some stops in and limit straps on so I am looking at like 8 inches max.

Hears what I am thinking... You have more experience than me so I wanted to know what you think !

What if I extended the rear torsion housing 3-6 inches on each side for a total of 6-12 inches ((( depending on what I can get in the garage door )))

Would that give me any more travel ?

No, Extending the torsion will only give you width, not travel. If you want more travel you will need longer arms and longer coil overs.

I have 16in travel 2.5 KING coil overs.

Its the cvs that are limiting my travel.

As the axle gets longer the angel will decrease and allow me to lower the a arm some right...

P. S. stop me if I am BUGging you !

I have another question for you.

Do you fab front hoops I have KING 12in
travel coil overs ?

What CVs are you running? Whats the angle on the axle at full droop? We can do shock hoops, but the die I have is a 6" radias so the hoops wont be a very tight bend.

I think your axles may be too short.

I just talked to scott and he said there is a T-1 trans and the torsion is stock length, with 3x3 arms you should be in the 20 1/4 range on the axle length. It looks to me like the axles are too short and the c-clip is bottoming out on the CV joint when you let the arm droop. Try pulling a c-clip off and see it the droop gets better. Also make sure the heim joint isnt in a bind, and the bolts sticking out of the heim plate are not contactng the arm.

the pick is at full drop the axle is hitting the bottom of the inner flange and the top of the outer flange

you are right on the nose ! That's my delima !

21 and 1/4 is for t-1 to 3x3 w930

19 1/4 for bus

Ordered all of thees axles

the one that fit was the 18 1/2

I have the 19 1/4 in right now I think it is to big I don't think I will be able to get my rear alignment right without machining some off.

At full drop I can move the axles back and forth at least an inch.
