I just picked up the light bar(thanks Say 10) and I was wondering how did those of you who run a light bar wired the lights? Did you you use relays? How many? Seperate switches for sets of lights? Just looking for ideas for mine.

I'd advise you to run a relay to burden the load. most lights pull to much amperage for a switch. If you run four lights. I'd advise to run pairs, two and two. Just like dim, bright. You don't always need four, but sometimes two isn't enough

if you buy the lights new, they come with their own switches. you need inline fuses (30A/ pair of 100w lights). switch the inner 2 together, the outer 2 together. you can penetrate the top corner of the roof and run the wire harness down the windshield corner out of siht. i ran mine in split loom wire manager down the rain rail on the drivers side into the antenna hole. run 2 wires per pair of lights to the bar. run a red for hot and a black for ground. run the ground to the inside of the car. do not ground to the light bar.

any more questions?

I run my wire down the drip rail in the back of the car into one of the heater holes. I have the reals wired to a terminal block next to the batery. I have the wres that run the relays. run up the heater cahnel and into the dash.

Simpl and you can have a nice big fat wire run to the relays from the battery. Last do not dril hole into the lid of your Baja. It will leak and drip and once it is done you can not fix it.

I bought the 30AMP millitary style (flip top lid) and I wired them in pairs. The relays weren't marked and they made me mad so I smashed them. (Stupid Relays!!! Mongo no like!!!) Evil or Very Mad

I used a fuse and it works fine!!

you must have an inline 30a fuse per pair of 100w (ea) lights. use the newer style flat fuse holder with flip cap. it keeps dirt ans moisture out.

Here's a typical relay set up. based on a 12v 20/30 amp pn# 0 332 204 150 This relay can be used in the normally open or normally closed position based on witch terminal you use in the middle.

Hope this helps. If I've goofed up, please feel free to criticize
