Does anyone in the EV have an engine stand I might borrow/rent for the next few weeks?? See thread "Anyone bored right now..." for all the gory details about my 1915. Sad

Thanks.

A nice clean workbench works for me.

Are you going to be around this evening? I have a dinner ant my Mom's in your area. I might be able to persuade the wife to let me drop by for a bit.

Are you referring to me? I am going to be around as far as I know. Drop on by!

I have the HEAD of a VW engine stand, so you would have to clamp it in a vice. You are welcome to borrow it.

Hmmm. Scott said he has one that clamps to a workbench, but I don't have a very sturdy workbench. I do have a workmate- supposed to be rated for like 300 lbs. Think that would work, just to assemble on top of it?

I've also got an engine stand (forgot I had until I saw it in my hangar today) for aircraft engines. The crank flange on an aircraft engine mounts to it, so the engine is held vertically for assembly. How does a VW engine mount to a stand?

The other two benches I have are Gorilla rack shelving. They're sturdy, but the wood isn't attached to them.

Me too.. maybe the round part of the benchmount style will go into round part on the stand.
