im going to be ordering a fuel cell this weekend for my 5/1600 project. i was wondering what size would be best? i want to run a 20gal fuel cell but my building partner said thats to much fuel. he wants to run a 10 gal tank. i think thats to small. in a lap desert race your looking at anywhere from a 25 mile loop to a 40+ loop. no matter what i will pit every lap just to check the car out and rest for a few seconds. should i just go with the smaller 10gal tank?
thanx ryan

Most of the race cars you see on the other sites run 22 gallon cells. If he thinks that adds too much weight, maybe look at a 16 gallon. This is one I was looking at. Don't know if it is legal in your sanctioning body though.

I RUN A 22 GAL FUEL SAFE RACING CELL IN MY CAR. EVEN FULL SEEMS TO STILL BE NIMBLE AND AEROBATIC. FUEL SAFE SELLS ARE SCORE APPROVED BUT THEY LAND A LARGE PRICE TAG, I BOUGHT MINE NEW $1200 BUCKS BUT I HAVE SEVERAL PICS OF THESE CELLS BALLED UP TO THE SIZE OF A COFFE CAN AND THE NEVER LEAKED OR RUPSURED. THATS A SELLING POINT TO ME BEING ITS IN THE BACK SEAT. BUT I WOULD SAY IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO BE TOOLING AROUND GO WITH A SPUN ALUMINUM OR A PLASTIC. BUT FOR ANY RACING GO WITH A BLADDER AND METAL STYLE FUEL CELL. THATS MY .02CENTS
