Is it necessary to use steel line to replace the fuel line that runs through the tunnel? Will rubber fuel line work? If not, what diameter tubing should I use, and where could I find it?? Thanks as always for your help!

Run hard lines. Rubber will dry out and/or runs the risk of chafing or otherwise failing, and you end up with gas in your tunnel, which is bad ummmmkay? You can order replacement hard lines pretty much everywhere.

YOU CAN PURCHASE PRE-MADE STEEL LINES OR IF YOUR BROKE LIKE MOST OF US ARE, NAPA AUTO PARTS SELLS STEEL BRAKE LINE BY THE FOOT, MEASURE AND REPLACE. 1/4 OR 5/16 IS FINE. BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SECURE IT SO IT DOESNT RUBE METAL TO METAL OR YOU WOULD BE IN THE SAME BOAT AS INSTALLING A RUBBER LINE, IT WILL EVENTULLAY WARE A SMALL HOLE IN IT AND LEAK. THAT WOULD MAKE A TUNNEL BOMB LOL!!!!!!!!!

The factory size is 1/4 steel line and is all you need unless your pushing a motor above 2000cc, then step up to 5/16. If you dont want to go through the hassle of running it inside the tunnel again, there is room to run the line on the floor right next to the brake line, just make sure you secure it with clamps that have a rubber or plastic insulator. I would defiantely use steel though.

I think I'll try running it next to the brake line like you suggested Bugzyla.. I know it's probably difficult to feed a replacement line through the tunnel, but is it THAT difficult? I mean, is it worth the effort to try? This fuel line id for my baja, and it seems more practical to run it next to the brake line, but if it's safer inside the tunnel, I'd like to go that route... thanks again everyone!

If you are going to run it inside the tunnel, you will need to cut some holes in the side to attach the new line where the old one was anchored so it doesnt rattle or rub on the shift tube or other stuff. Personally, I usually just run them on the floor, much easier.
