The best way to fix it up depends on your intended prupose and budget. If you want to go mild......cheap; cut and turn the front beam a 1/4 inch (free); re-index the rear torsions (free); get some decent shocks..

better frt..http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=223_224_235&products_id=4093

Cheap poly seats if going cheap, otherwise the recommended way is suspension seats, which start at 250 pr + shipping.

Or the sky is the limit. My budget is 10k for mid travel, air cooled engine, full cage, etc may be too low. You can easily spend 20k+ for a nice coil/over professionaly built car.

thanks! i now for a fact that the suspension he had on the bug was not going to work. i think ima go with the kyb's i do like bilstien but they are a little more than im willing to spend right now!

as far as body work... the car has a one piece front end(good or bad?) and there is a minor rust spot on top of the roof no bigger than a dime! what to do? and my budget really is more when i get money pay my bills then the bug! oh and what are the best tires to go with such as size and lug?

thanks alot

Pull one of the heads, scrape the carbon off one of the pistons, and look at the number that should be stamped on the top. for 1600 it's 85.5 (might be anywhere from 85.4 to 85.5)

for a 1300, I believe it's in the 77-78 mm range, can't recall specifically.

Now, this is only true if it's a stock 69mm crank, but it probably is.

a new 009 dizzy will run you about 70 bucks plus shipping if you don't get it locally. You're in riverside, there's TONS of dub shops out that way.

Yep, here you go:

www.thesamba.com/vw/cl...?id=245735

plus shipping to AZ is $55. total of 305 for the basic ones. There was a forum asking for opinions on these and nobody that had any said anything bad. The Beard or Mastercraft only people call them junk. (while they are writing a check for their hown equity loan payment) Laughing
