Anyone know where I can get some replacement covers for my Racetrim seats in my new baja? They're sunrotted to death. Need black.

Also- how much $$$ and how hard is it to replace T1 CV boots? Gonna need to do that too.

Those two things and a compression check to find out where the sticky ring is (hopefully) and I should be cruisin'... Cool

I say "my" because I ain't picked it up yet (or paid for it for that matter). Laughing

Cool- I'll give Scott a call. Mine could be used for a pattern. They LOOK fine, it's just that when you touch them, they crumble and turn your skin black.

Some old timers like marvel's mystery oil (or trans fluid) to loosen up a stuck ring. Change the oil, put in a 50/50 mix of oil and atf; run it for a few minutes, then change the oil again. DISCLAIMER I have never done this myself, but had it done on a V8 that I bought that was neglected.

I'm planning on running some Marvel/motor oil mixed and driving it some to see what happens. I will probably also do a compression test and see if I can figure out which cylinder(s) are leaking. Hoping I can square it away without a teardown, but we'll see.

What does this accomplish? Is there more to the process that you can explain??

Thanks.

Comparing the dry and wet (with oil) compression readings will give you a little more insight on the ring quality. The rings are already in question though. A leak down test is where you fill the cylinder with compressed air via a pressure gage and read the percentage of air lost and where is goes. ie out of the carb=intake valve; exhaust =exhaust valve; blows the dipstick out=rings. You can do that after you narrow it down to a cylinder.
Does that help?
I would probably try the snake oil first. Then do a compression test.
