I know most of you are in the warmer climates but I'm gonna ask any way.
I'm replacing one of the heater channels (manual: side member) in my Baja. I'm going to set it up for heat as I live in Northern VA. and plan to take it to the beach on and off summer seasons.
Does any one know what/where I can get the hose that runs from the front of the channel up (front door channel into the trunk) to the defroster (actually goes to a "Y" connector)?
Also, how can I install this thing after I weld up the channel? According to the "Official Service Manual" this hose should not be removed as it takes a special tool to re-install.
Damn if I can find any mention of eighther hose or tool at any of my favorite WEB stores.

You can get the flexible tubing at Napa or similar stores. I get the next size larger and put a good amount of silicone inside of the flex pipe (ultra copper works well because it doesnt give off that typical silicone smell that will knock you out) After that just slide the flex tube down inside the opening and over the metal tube and let it sit overnite, and the next day you can stretch it and bend it to where you want it to go.

Not to sound like a bonehead No! No! No! No!!!! , but can you be more specific concerning the type hose?

I've looked all over (online) at the various auto parts stores around us but not finding any thing like what you describe. Outside of water heater hoses for radiators and such.

I found some flex hose from Home Depot for pools but I'm not sure that'll hold up to the heat. (?)

Its called flexible pre heater ducting. Its used alot on cars to go from the air cleaner to the exhaust for preheating the air on cold mornings, providing you live in thatr kind of climate. Most parts stores carry it on different sizes.

Don't think the idiots at AA (won't mention whom that is) will know what I'm talking about but perhaps the racing shop we have near us may.
