I've searched and cant' find this. Sorry if it is obvious information.

What is the wheel travel on the rear of a 73 bug (IRS)? I just put paddle tires on it and don't know if they will take off the fenders or not. I did cut the fenders.

Thanks.

pull your shoch of the car and take a compress and a exteneded measure on it this will give you your travle, about 6" to 8" on a stock VW

6"-8", huh? I only have 5" between the new paddles and the fender. Man...I don't want to raise this.

You have 5" between the tire and fender when its on the ground? That will not give you an accurate assessment. If you use the 8-9" travel base estimate, you will have to lift your baja off the ground and allow the suspension to fully droop, then measure. (Disregard if you have done this already)

Oh...five inches would be from when it is jacked up????? That just might do it! Hurray! Very Happy

I have cut my rear fenders back a couple of inches since these pictures. It rubbed a little that day...but I was pretty easy on it.

While we're at it...I have stock-sized tires on stock wheels. Would they be better on the front for sand than what I have on it?
