i was drivin down the road and randomly my bug felt like it poped out of gear it dident and i came to a complete stop and i was still in gear and it dident die i went back and looked at the trans and the right side was only spinning but the cv wasent turning the wheel its irs buy the way. anyone have any ideas

Which CV? The inside one by the trans, or the outer CV by the wheel? Could be a busted axle, couldn't it?

found the prob the drum splines were shot and went and bot a new drub and its totally differnt the old one has studs coming out and is smaller the new one has thareaded holes so i have no idea what tipe of drums are on my bug f...in sucks

You need to swap the studs out. They screw in. If they're welded in, buy another set. If you return the new drum, take the old one with you.

the studs are pressed in and i cant find the right threaded rod at the hardware store the people that work there couldent even find one and its size 14 pretty big and i just found out the bug has bus brakes all around so i need to take it back and get a bus drum

If you need a stud kit, the 14mm ones are here

If you have a 5 lug 14mm you will have to order 2 sets off the 4 lug 14mm to get enough, but at least you will have spares.
