o.k. i putting the front end back together...new ball joint front arms, damper, tierod ends and shocks.and now ive got a couple questions, are you suprised?
first off, when i put the alen head bolts back on the front arms they dont seem to go down as far as i thought they were when i took them off there sticking out like a half an inch.ive got the whole front end put together now but keep wondering about those bolts.if i have to take it all apart and do something different ,now is the time...
also the tie rod ends had cotter pins in them and these new ones have a lock nut ,whats the torque on those nuts...
and those funny lookin sleeve things that go on the upper ball joint bolt with the off center hole.do i just guess for now when i have it on the baja.and theres no way i can get a torque wrench on the ball joint nuts so whats the trick on tightining those down...
and last but certainly not least the shocks, there coilover and they rub on the front arm.are those as crappy a shock as they seem to be..
thanks guys,i know i probably ask alot of dumb questions sometime but i want you guys to know i really appreciate the help.
i posted some pics in projects in progress,i cant figure how to post them in here..

if ya can, please post pics of these items....

cotter key goes through the end of the ball joint to lock the nut on.

torque specs....(t-1, t-3)

tie rod nuts = 18 ft. lbs.

steering dampner bolt = 29 - 32 ft lbs

steering dampner nut = 18 ft lbs

I dont have specs for ball joints....

Check to be sure that your spring plates line up. There is usually a indentation for the set screw to resess in.

This is normal. Kevin is right on with the spec.

Those are the camber/caster adjusters. They need to be set with the notch facing forward. Just get them tight!!!

Yes. Sorry.

I have the coil overs in front. they rub the arms, but seem to work fine. the ride is even better than I expected.
