I went for a bit today- I was kind of disappointed. I thought the swap meet would be bigger (never been before, just thought it would be for some reason). There was a LOT of junk at the swap. Chirco, Karl's and a couple other vendors were there with new stuff. It was definitely more street bug-oriented, but it was still cool. There was probably more newer VW's there than old bugs and buses I think.

I guess I'd have been a little happier if it hadn't cost me $15 to get in PLUS $5 to park (when I was ALONE!).

That white baja from Tucson (Caversmoon above mentioned it) was pretty nice. Lotsa suspension on that sucker. 3x3's in the back, HUGE coilover shocks all the way around, tube front end, blah blah blah. He had some really nice aluminum rear fenders- I wonder if they were custom built or aftermarket- anyone know that saw it?

Robert???? at BOR???

Message: Hi Robert, my name is Robb Rinard and I work at a local Phoenix game development company. Our company is currently developing an offroad game about the Baja 1000. We have three classes of Volkswagens in the game and are in need of people in the Phoenix area that have cool sounding bugs. I came across your club on the web and decided to contact you. If you, or any members of your club would be willing to come out to our dyno facility in south scottsdale on a Saturday, we’d like to record the sound of the engines to use in the game.

That white Baja was quite nice. Gotta love the kid bucket seats in the rear. I have seen the cage work being done at Bugs N Buggies in Tucson, pretty nice stuff they do (http://www.bugsnbuggies.com). They might now where the fenders came from.

I was pretty disappointed with BOR this year as well. I was looking to get some deals, but most of the swap meet was junk and overpriced junk at that.

Guess its back to working on my baja.

Hey guy's how's it going, that was my white 69 Baja at the BOR. Thanks az350x and cavermoon for the compliments on the Baja. If you have any questions on it let me know. As for the rear fenders I had a local guy named Mark Hanson make them. He really does some nice quality work, any way you want them. He works out of his garage and his shop name is Strange Fab. The fenders ran $120 for the pair. That was my last show, because I have orders to go to Japan for 4 years. So it was fun, not too bad. Did any one check out SandFest?

I will try and post some tonight. My friend that came to visit for the show took a ton of pics of my car. So once I get them from him I will post them. I usually just lurk around the forums, not too much posting. I get allot of answers from just reading old posts. I just found you guy's on the net, so at the show Robb Rinard (Video Game Guy) came to talk to me and ask if there was a club there in PHX. So I gave him you web address since it's easy to remeber, and I figured most of the local guy's could help him out. Are you guy's going to come to Tucson for a meeting?

Hey VRreal- welcome to the board. Since you showed up, I guess I can ask you directly- whatcha got for a motor in that car?? What do you attribute the sound to (I didn't hear it run)? Awesome exhaust or the 400 hp she puts out? =)

I wish I had 400 ponies. I just have a 1915. My plan is to go to Japan and save for 4 years, and to see what's new around the time I come back. I would like to throw a turbo on it, or maybe try something different. Not sure yet, but it does good.
