Do I need to buy the driver-side tie rod as well, or just the passenger (long) one?

about 8 out of ten, the long one is the one that will go due to the amount of flex.

if its bent and you can't straighten it out, replace it. just be sure and reinforce it. I couldn't see it in teh pic. (still makes me chuckle) You must have hit pretty hard.

I just wish I would have realized what was happening so that I could enjoy it WHILE it was happening. I have never been in a car when it left the ground. I did not realize what we had done until my son pointed out the LACK of tire tracks for 25 feet <<Cue in the Griswalds>>.

Actually, my back seat come flying up against the front seats, the speakers flew up as well (they WERE loose), and my hat got knocked off. I have been chuckling about it since then as well.

Funny...on the way over to the coast, I said to the guy with us: "The only thing I haven't replaced that might break would have to be something in the suspension". Check! Done.

Also...it would have helped while I was removing the gas tank in the sand if it didn't have that drain on the driver's side of the tank. What is it for? Can it be capped? It goes back to the filler neck.

Has anyone used some sort of shut-off to stop fuel from leaking out of the supply line when separated?
