I bought a wire loom kit a couple of days ago. I think that I would be fine except I can't figure which end of the wire bundle goes up front and which in the back.

Any help????

No! No! No! No!!!!

...and while we're at it, if you take the ignition switch off of the steering column, will it prevent the steering wheel from locking without the key?

If so, I may just put a new ignition switch in it as well.

Then...the next problem will be figuring out the blinker switch.

If you buy the wire loom kit that comes from EMPI, the end with the blue connectors goes to the rear of the car.

If you take the whole piece that holds in the ignition switch, you will need to take the bushing out of the housing and hold it in place with a hose clamp. If you buy the turn signal switch from EMPI, the stock flasher relay will not work (unless mine was broke).

Had to answer my own question, but someone might search for this answer later.

I couldn't answer cuz I did away with the whole column. Just using the stock shaft for now with a bolt on bushing. Glad to hear bout' the wiring kit though. It didn't come with instructions?

Nope...just a schematic. I realize that should be enough, but just a few pointers would have been nice.

Now that I have done it, I think I could do it better by just buying the stuff and doing it from scratch.

Just took my bug to the dunes for the first time today. No one told me you aren't supposed to try to jump a bug with a stock front end at 25-30mph+. We cleared about 25 feet but ended our day early by bending a tie rod BADLY. We were able to bend it back and tow it home...It was worth it! A lot of fun today. I will post pictures of my tie rod in a new post.
