also try www.craigslist.com and look in the tucson section, or call Phil at Cool Dreamz window tinting in Sierra Vista, he always has something laying around.

so After I get my beetle. What I want to do is build a sand rail. what parts can I use from the beetle on the sand rail? I know I can use front and rear suspension, engine, transmission, shifter. but can I use things such as the steering column, gastank, gauges, seats, headlights, turn signals, wiring harness, etc?

how much and does it have everything?

as for me trying to scam cheap parts, if there's another way to build a rail, not using a vw , I sure don't know about it.

what are the advantages of a baja over a rail? or vice versa?

hey bahaw it sounds good but the thing is with the motor, If I didn't take it apart myself, I don't know how to put it back together. and wouldn't the tranny be a painin the neck to find?

when I said I can fix it up, I meant I can get it running. a engine rebuild is a little be beyond me.

thanks though

C/ANDREW,

There is a gentleman in the area with 30 years experience that can take your disassembled engine and build you a stock 1600 long block for between $600.00 and $700.00. You can get a transmission pretty easily...AZ Transaxle usually has then in stock.

Anyway, if you are interested in my baja, just let me know.

Jake
