Thanks again jamesr6168, sorry I got a little huffy, but being a girl in this world is rough sometimes, and I have to clean house every once in a while. I can't believe that little bit of effort got it running better! You Rock!

YES! I am a big-time MOPAR Girl....I also have a 2005 Hemi Dodge Ram, my next toy will be either a 69 or a 70 roadrunner, w/a 440 Six pack...Orange...mmmm sweet! beep beep!!

Now, I'm going to need a little help from everyone:

I decided to try and take the Green Machine out to Pismo Beach! My son is turning 9 and I bought him a brand new KTM 65, so we need to play! This is my list of to do's to the bug:
1)Shocks Front and Rear, Coil over is fine for now, if I can get them under $30 each, I will be in good shape.
2)Engine Gasket Kit Found some on Chirco for $10, I hope its the right one.
3)Change Oil, it's a little black....
4)Find hose that goes from Breather vent to the Air Filter
5) Clean K&N Air Filter....mmmm
6)Seat Belts, don't have any I would like 4 but 2 are fine for the fronts
7) Front tires, the ones it came with were too big, and I couldn't turn the wheels w/out them rubbing, so now the replacements (used) are way too small, I need something beefier, but w/in my budget.
Cool Alum. Dash, I couldn't find any that were diamond Plated, so I will have to settle for a regular one, found it for $24 at mooreparts.com

Also, here is a pic of the engine, I have the air filter, it's just off for right now. If you guys see anything missing or what have you, please let me know. This bug is a bit of a basket case, but I think I can get it going good enough to take to Pismo. Wish me luck!!!

My contract signing bonus came in. I went to Chirco last night and bought my floor pans and HD irs pivot mounts. Stopped by Habor Freight and bought the 12 ton pipe bender and pipe notcher. Got home and ordered the 5x5's from Blind Chicken. I traded a Holley progressive for a set of Weber 40's. For the last week or so I have been doing spring cleaning in the yard and repairing my sprinkler system. I also put a swamp cooler on the work shed.

Watched the rain fall on my poor lil' ol' pan. Also watched the rain fill up my windowless donor car- need to get that sucker in the garage, so I can fix the brakes and get an oil filler/breather on it and then maybe go hot rod it around a little before I rip it apart!

I'm kicking myself right now- coulda bought a NICE squareback the other day with a built 1915 in it for $1800. I could have put a different motor in the car for a few hundred bucks and kept the 1915 for almost nothing! SHOOT! Couldn't get momma on board with spending the $$$- I was first in line for the car. CRUD. Oh well- it'll have to be 1600sp until another opportunity comes along...

I painted the baja yesterday. Decided to paint it tan primer. Had the paint guy at ACE mix up some primer and I shot it on thick with an air gun. Then I used a roller, and shot it with the gun again. Gave it the textured bedliner type look I was after. If I could figure how to post pictures, i would let you see.

This baja is fun to tinker with. Glad to finally have one. thanks for all the help and input guys.

I heard that the Bugorama is back in Phx in April. Is this the same Bugorama I went to as a kid in the early 80's? Anyone else going?
John

Cleaned and painted my trans. Stripped all the wiring and started stripping my 2.3 fi harness. Waiting on my trans mounts and to finish a few side jobs to make some cheese.

Put the beam back under my dune buggy. Now I have some clearance and travel I will try and get my wife to take some pictures and post them. More smarts than I have. Now my front end is much higher than my rear. I also will have to figure some thing out for steering. What do you guys and gals recomend for a rack type steering? thanks Mufasa
