Last night a girl in a Toyota matrix decided to pull a u turn in front of me. Mad Hit her dead square in the side at about 25mph. The front bumper did its job but smashed into the 1 piece front end all but destroying it , 1 light bucket is trashed also as well as my steering wheel. I have not been able to determine if the beam or pan are bent yet, as I am waiting on her insurance to come look at it before I do anything to it. So I may be looking for some parts soon (cheap) until I get some type of settlement.

Oh yeh and thank goodness for my lowly lap belt! saved my ass from a trip into the windshield.

Well the good news is it is just the bumper and fiberglass, the pan and front end are still straight. So maybe they wont total it. The stupid girl has still not called her ins co so they can prove liability(sp). So I am being forced to drive it as is for now. Crying or Very sad

If her insurance company wont get moving, then get your insurance company involved. They have people that are paid from your premiums to deal with this kinda stuff. And just tell them she was at fault and you want your car fixede ASAP with no excuses. Trust me I have done it this way with fast results.

A police report was done, of course I was the one who called them and they did not site her. It happened at union hills and 111th ave. the street is a T there as 111th only goes north and not south and union is only 2 lanes 1 west and 1 east. We were both heading west on union when she pulled into 111th but still pointing west (she was doing pizza delivery or some thing like that) so I figured she was lost and going to flip a u turn after I passed. Well obviosly she didnt wait until I passed. I slamed on the brakes and steered just a little to the left but she just kept turning, From what the ins person told me I think she told them she didnt pull off the street, I never left my drive lane and still hit her in between both doors, so thats is not possible.

It's kind of hard to hit some one in the side of the car, She made an unsafe lane change into your lane. If she was still on the street you would of hit the rear end of her car not the side.

sounds like shes a punk kid or just stupid.
you say that union hills is only 2 lanes at that intersection. if you had swerved or made a lane change, that would have put you into on coming traffic. you t boned her when she tried to make a u turn with out exiting union hills to a side street for a turn around point. sounds more like she was tryin to swing her car onto the sidewalk and flip a quick u like she was off roadin or somethin.

you never did say who got cited, if either of you did.

you may have to draw a diagram for the egg head insurance adjuster and have pics of the intersection. any skid marks from you stoppin? do you or the cops have witness statements?

For some reason she was not sited. I of course wasn't. They will see a diagram when they get the police report and then will see that their insured is lying to them. No skid marks the front tires locked up but the old pavement didnt show anyhting.
