this morning while drinving down the road i put he clutch in and a weird like grinding nois started it almost sound like the tire is rubbing on the fender but its not i checked all tires the nois is coming from the back side of the engine i have no idea if its the trans because the noise stops when i hit the gas and go any ideas ????

mine kinda does that too. Not grind kinda sound but it does make a kinda funny sound.

My old baja did something like that it was a bad throwout bearing clip let go. and bearing did not sit on the shaft .can you feel it in the clucth pedel? is this car irs if so see if c.v. on transmision are rubbing frame .

make sure the dog house fan isnt rubbin at loew rpms. it may wobble at low and straighten out at high rpms.

well i found the problem the irs axel joint is rubbing on the frame because my bajaa bug is setup up with traction bars and the engine and trans can be pulled at the same time so the one of welds on the traction bars broke so one side of the trans is rubbin need to get tit fixed quickly lol anyone live in washington neer tacoma or puyallup that hella good at welding willing to pay like 20 bucks for like a 4 inch weld that wont brake.

are you missing your trans straps???

there should be one on the bell housing and one farther up towrds the nose....

im not to sure what the trans straps look like but i fixed the weld but it still rubs every once in a while also its a thee rib irs bus trans and thers no straps that i can see but thers to blates the go from the the tracktion bar under the trans the part were thers is to red washers on each side is were the weld broke before on the top

If it rubs occasionally, it sounds like something is still loose. I imagine you have already tightened all the mounting bolts and checked for other broken weld. Is there rub marks on the pass side or driver's side? I would lift it up so you have a good view and try to move the trans up on either side and observe what happens.

Hope that points you in the right direction.
