Hey there.

Beginner Baja here. Some of you may have read my post in the new members section. Anyways. I want to do a baja as a project after I get my car running. One of the first things I figure I should ask is, where do most people cut off metal and how much do they cut off?

What about the front end? is there any cutting there? Or do you only have to take off the front apron? Mainly what I want to know is how to make the fibreglass hood fit for a bugeye kit.

if ya buy the 7 piece fiberglass kit/ or 1 piece front end, then you remove the front apron.

That shows for a one piece frt end. The 7 pc kits, require cutting, fitting, triming etc. I have read most of the kits have a templet to get you close.

You eye ball it Bolt the parts on to the car the best you can and then use a marker to draw your cut lines. leave about a half an inch extra so you can fold the metal over and make the sharp edge smooth and keep it from flexing.

Best tool for cutting is a basic jig/skill saw with a 32 tothe metal blade. Cuts like better.

Tip always leave a little extre if you cut too much your SOL unlles you can weld

Congrats on getting it done! Seems like with a lot of projects, the hardest part is getting the nerve to take a saw to the car, once you are in the process it isn't too bad!
